Arriving at John F. Kennedy Airport in New York, I went down memory lane thirty years ago to that young girl arriving from Lagos, Nigeria, alone and a little anxious, and who wanted nothing more than to be a lawyer.
My immigration journey took me from an F-1 student at Pace University School of Law to the United States citizen I am today. I knew a couple of other foreign students who had fallen out of legal status due to a lack of proper legal counseling.
